About: In the past, venture capital funds have been accessible to only high net-worth investors, with fund minimum investment levels as high as £250,000. More recently, Further opened this space up, providing access to venture capital investing for all investors, with minimum investments from £1,000.
Further is a B2B software company, working with market-leading venture capital funds that operate in some of the most complicated corners of the venture market. With these partners, they have built a full enterprise operating system for funds and the sector as a whole.
Their system, called FundOS, is the world’s first modern, full operating system for investment funds. This is the operational backbone for their fund customers, enabling them to automate investor onboarding, fund administration, and investor reporting, while they focus on what they do best - investing.
Responsibilities: As an early-stage company, they’re looking for individuals who want to solve problems at a fast pace and see their work deliver meaningful change for their clients.
Your role will include:
- Being hands-on and spending most of your time coding - developing the product across the back end and front end, adding features from their roadmap, and building upon the existing code base.
- Using your expertise and best practices to improve the stability, security, performance, and usability of the platform.
- Having a significant amount of ownership and influence in the development and technical direction of the product.
The product is built in Node.js (back end) and React.js (front end). The application database is hosted on MongoDB and the system is hosted by Amazon Web Services.
Required:
- Experience working in a high-quality development team, with good knowledge of best practices
- Experience in working with startups - they are looking for an adaptable 'can do' individual that is driven and accustomed to fast-paced problem-solving
- You know how to prioritize, changing from an offensive build mode so you can get your solution in front of clients, to playing defense, solidifying what you’ve built, and setting up processes for scale.
- Experience supporting pre-build activities, such as estimation and specification
- 4+ years of experience with Node.js and React.js
- Knowledge of security best practices
